Yesterday, third graders in Mrs. Seefeld's and Mrs. Watrous's classes held a fancy lunch at the "Holiday Resort." Guests that joined them included Mrs. Andera, Mrs. Hargraves, Mr. McMillan, and Ms. Walton.

It's a big day in Harrison Community Schools! Teresa Dancer-Humphres (HS) and Michael Long (Larson) were recognized by the VFW as Teachers of the Year. In addition, Eli Wing and Storm Gallagher were recognized for placing 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, in the Voice of Democracy competition. #HornetPride

Please join us for our Annual Holiday Community Dinner! Monday, December 23rd from 3-6 PM. Please call any of our school offices to RSVP.

Due to fog and road conditions, Harrison Community Schools will be closed today, Monday, December 16th.
Due to the weather, we are in the unfortunate position of being compelled to cancel today's performance of "The Diary of Anne Frank." Check the HS Facebook page for info on a tentative reschedule date.

When living history comes to your school, you hang on every word. Today, our MS and HS students had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear the testimony of Irene Miller. Mrs. Miller is a Holocaust survivor, and the only known survivor in Michigan who is still living. She shared her story of fleeing Warsaw, Poland as a young child, away from the Nazis, and later surviving under the brutality of the Stalin regime through the end of WWII in 1945. Immigrating first to Israel and then to the U.S., Mrs. Miller's words of persevering through hunger, cold, violence, disease, and anti-Semitism were inspiring, to say the least. She called on all of us to be upstanders against any injustice, large or small, and to be vigilant against all threats to our freedoms and our Constitution.

After school today, our K-12 Science Team came together to continue its learning journey. Today, our focus was the Science & Engineering Practices that are embedded into the Michigan Science Standards. #LifelongLearners

Thank you to our students and staff from the Hive HS campus for leading the Pledge at last night's Board meeting. The students also presented an instructional highlight. #HornetNation
