If you have a middle schooler, this event is for you! #HornetNation

As we celebrate Constitution Week, here is a short video about the Constitutional Convention held in 1787. The narrator may or may not be familiar to you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uihNc_tdGbk

Hello, Hornet Nation!
Please take time to read through our latest issue of "All the Buzz," for news and information from HCS. https://www.smore.com/j1p09

Our sophomores and juniors from the Hive played a rousing game of kickball against the Clare Pioneers. Go Hornets!!

Larson Elementary is looking for 3 - Special Education Paraprofessionals. Please see job posting for job requirements and application information.

Happening now: 22 of our teachers have joined Curriculum Director Kelly Lipovsky to learn more about developing their professional growth plans. Teachers are life-long learners, and remain committed to growing their professional practice. #HornetNation #HornetPride

There was much to celebrate at last night's Board meeting. A group of 5th graders and teachers led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Also, Sheriff John Wilson presented Jamie Lipovsky with the Life Saver Award. Next month, the Pledge will be led by middle schoolers. #HornetPride

Congrat to our 2022 HS Homecoming Court! The following seniors will join 9th, 10th, and 11th graders on court: Conner K., Nathan M., Sam R., Hayden V., Madisyn S., Malea G., Libby B., & Jiaryatou C. Parade begins at 5pm on 9/30/22, and the game (against Shepherd) starts at 7pm.

Hats off to our A.D. and Athletic Boosters for a wonderful Military Appreciation Night! Our Hornets beat Pinconning, the middle school cheerleaders joined the sideline, and the band kept #HornetPride going all evening. Thanks to the service members who were able to join us.

Today, students in Mr. Paredes's high school Spanish II class went down to Larson to teach our younger learners. Connecting learners across our schools benefits everyone!

Highest of fives to teacher/coach Jamie Lipovsky, who helped save a life this week. On his way home earlier in the week, he saw a family in distress on the side of the road. Mr. Lipovsky stopped to help, and performed life-saving CPR on an infant. #HornetPride

Larson is celebrating International Dot Day on Friday from 5:30-6:30pm! Inspired by the book "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds, families will chalk their marks (dots) on the sidewalk as symbols of creativity and uniqueness. Afterward, join us at the Hornet football game! #MakeYourMark

Yesterday, after a demonstration from Mr. McCrimmon, our wood shop students used the planing machine. After each time through the machine, the board is
measured so that the precise thickness is achieved.

Happy September! Please take a few minutes to read through our latest edition of "All the Buzz." https://www.smore.com/zxf2j

We have had approximately 20+ positive COVID cases reported for the week as of this morning. As a reminder, there is a 5 day isolation period with a positive test (day 0 is the onset of symptoms, or if asymptomatic, the test date), with return to school on day 6 assuming symptoms are improving. Masking day 6-10 is recommended but not required. Our best protection continues to be regular handwashing, staying home if symptoms are present, masking during days 6-10 upon returning to school, and vaccinations/boosters when eligible. If you have any questions, please call your school main office.

Happening now - our K-12 ELA teachers are learning and working together around state standards. This "vertical alignment" work helps ensure a guaranteed and viable curriculum for all. #HornetPride

When learners engage in collaboration, they gain self-confidence and build other important strengths.
Something to try: instead of "how was school today?", consider "who did you learn with today?" instead.

Stop in at the Harrison Street Fair and check out our awesome Stingers of Steel Robotics team and their robot! For a small donation, you can try running the robot like our terrific Superintendent Dr. Judy Walton did today! 💙💛
