As we continue to focus on real-world learning, today some of our high schoolers pitched ideas to city council members. One presentation involved a community fitness center, and the other a rehabilitation center. The students thoroughly researched the "what, why, and how" and their presentations were polished and well delivered. Moreover, they truly leaned into our guiding belief of "neighborliness" -- actively engaging with our community and instilling a sense of civic pride and responsibility. #HornetPride

Teaching is hard work, even on the best days. On any given day, teachers do so much more: they solve disagreements, they offer bandaids, they give pep talks, they revel in lightbulb moments with learners, they encourage hearts, and they believe in every student's future story. #HornetPride #TeacherAppreciation Week

Hornet Nation, Our internet and phone services are back online. We appreciate your patience, and we appreciate our CGRESD technology partners for all their hard work to restore services. Judy Walton

UPDATE FOR HORNET NATION: Our servers at the CGRESD experienced some type of failure today, and our partners there are working diligently with vendors to diagnose and repair. It is quite possible that the internet and phone outages may continue into tomorrow. While it may seem a bit "old school" for our students, learning will happen all day tomorrow on all of our campuses. Since access to staff may be impossible through technology, if you need direct communication it may mean stopping by in person to see us. We appreciate your continued patience. Judy Walton
