The Community Advisory Council Meeting will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 3 pm in the Harrison Middle School Media Center.

Families,
This afternoon, in conjunction with our law enforcement partners, Harrison Community Schools conducted a lockdown drill across all campuses. These unannounced drills are part of our safety plan and are required by state law. Many thanks to Deputy Oster, Emergency Management Director Becker, and all other participants.
Especially with younger children, the drills may make some anxious or stressed. Please know that our staff, with its training, supported all students. However, your child may still need to process the experience with you at home tonight.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me.

Reminder: no school for students on February 6 and 9. Teachers and some other staff have professional learning on Friday.

FYI...teachers have professional learning in the afternoon.

Due to forecasted temperatures below -20 (with windchill) for Friday morning, Harrison Community Schools will be closed on Friday, January 23, 2026. We will advise about practices or games later tomorrow.

**UPDATE:**
I am sending this via email, our app, and on social media, as I did the first letter.
HCS Families,
Our law enforcement partners interviewed the person who launched this issue on social media. What they were able to find out is that the alleged event took place "a few months ago." The person would not provide law enforcement with the name of the student, as he believes the student "accidentally" brought the firearm to school. In addition, officers were provided with no evidence of the event occurring. I am disclosing nothing confidential - all of that is part of a public police report.
Out of an abundance of caution, the sheriff's department facilitated a bag and locker check in the middle school and high school this morning as students were entering. Myself and multiple other administrators and staff members assisted them. Your children were incredibly cooperative, and we found nothing.
Again, if you have any questions, please reach out to me.
