Reminder: no school for students on Friday, February 7 and Monday, February 10.
During the afternoon today, our teachers met in either grade level or content area teams. This block of time together is crucial for professional growth and to continue to enhance high-quality teaching and learning for all. We appreciate your support, as we know half days may require additional childcare for many families.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 29th, is a half day of school. Early Childhood (GSRP) Preschool will be released at 11:20 a.m. Larson students will be released at 11:40 a.m. Middle School, High School and Hive students will be released at 11:30 a.m. If your students ride the bus home from school, please plan on them arriving approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes earlier then they are normally dropped off on a regular school day. Afternoon CTE is still in session and transportation will be provided to and from the High School but will need transportation home.
A big Hornet welcome to our new School Resource Officer, Deputy Jim Chinavare. As you see Deputy Chinavare in and around our schools, feel free to say hello and introduce yourself.
In looking at forecasted wind chill temps for tomorrow morning, we do not believe it will be safe at bus stops, even with a two-hour delay. We will be closed on Wednesday, January 22.
We have been paying very close to the weather forecast for tomorrow. After looking at a variety of forecasts, the weather will be too cold to safely allow children to wait at our bus stops. Therefore, Harrison Community Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 21.
On this federal holiday, we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
FYI - if you need a place to stay warm this week.
